About Me
My name is Marcelo Lorenzo, I am currently 30 years old and I live in Montevideo, Uruguay with my girlfriend Julia and my dogs Teo and Cumbia. My hobbies are playing soccer, walking my dogs and being able to watch a good series on the couch (waking up and going to sleep loop). I dedicate myself to work as a sysadmin and as a devops engineer, it all started in 2011 when I got my first IT job, from there I dedicated myself to work but mainly to learn and then get to what I like the most, automation and Cloud.
About The Blog
I decided to set up this blog in order to help myself and other people who have the same concerns as me and don't know how to solve them, as well as to be able to share my work with all blog readers.
My Skills and Experiences
My technical skills today is git, AWS, Terraform, and bash. It all started when I started at a job and saw that they had all of their infrastructure in AWS done through the GUI. From there I began to worry about what could happen without the region where we had everything up and running, it fell or was no longer available, it was there that searching and internalizing myself in the subject I met terraform.... and how happy it made me... I came to code all infrastructure in terraform saving my state in own S3 bucket. Well, with my foot on the accelerator, I began to internalize Kubernetes since I had had previous work experience where I worked with Rancher and after several meetings with my boss we saw that migrating the apps that we had deployed in a legacy way could be lifted in a Kubernetes cluster and be able to achieve high availability of it, in this work we achieved one improvement after another improvement! Managing to have applications in Kubernetes, 100% monitored, achieving a very good CI/CD with Jenkins.
